Welcome to The Stahl Lab

Using Engineering Tools for Biological Research

The main goal of our laboratory is to pursue biomedical research in the broad area of metabolic diseases and cancer. We are a highly collaborative environment and are taking diverse innovative interdisciplinary approaches to address human health-related problems in areas ranging from diabetes to liver cancer, leveraging techniques from multiple fields such as metabolism/physiology, tissue engineering, cell biology and cellular biomechanics, stem cell biology, microphysiological devices, chemical biology, and in vivo imaging.

We are part of multiple graduate programs at Berkeley including:

  • Metabolic Biology

  • Bioengineering

  • Chemical Biology

  • Endocrinology

  • Comparative Biochemistry
